Whether you just need a yearly checkup, or are actively having a dental emergency, we are here to do a thorough evaluation and provide solutions
Dental Cleanings
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Consistent cleanings are crucial to keeping a healthy smile by preventing cavities and periodontal disease.
Dental Fillings
We can use tooth colored filling material to replace areas of the tooth that are infected with cavity. Fillings can also be used to repair fractured or chipped teeth.
Crowns and Veneers
For times where more extensive damage has occurred to a tooth, crowns or veneers are an ideal solution to both maximize strength and aesthetics of the tooth for the long term.
Root Canal Therapy
In the case of an infected or severely inflamed tooth, it is occasionally necessary to remove the nerve of a tooth in order to save it. While they get a bad rap, root canal procedures are just as painless as any other dental work, and are a great option where the only alternative option would be to pull the tooth.
Extractions
In the rare cases where no amount of dental work can save a tooth, it is occasionally necessary to pull the tooth to ensure no future medical problems from an infected or damaged tooth.
Full and Partial Dentures
Dentures are removable appliances that can either replace all of your teeth, or sections of missing teeth in between remaining teeth. These are a great option if we need to replace multiple teeth at once.
Implants
Implants are medical devices surgically placed into your bone that we then use to support a crown in place of the missing tooth. Dr. Todd does not surgically place implants at this time, but we do place the overlaying crown. Our friends at the Oral Surgeon's office will assist with the initial implant placement.
Teeth Whitening
We offer take home customized whitening trays that are molded to your teeth. This allows for a more effective whitening process than what you can get over the counter.
Nightguards
For those who clench and grind while they sleep, nightguards offer excellent protection to your teeth. They prevent your teeth from wearing down over time, and are often used to relieve jaw joint pain as well.
Meet the Team
Emma- Front Desk
Emma was born and raised in the Bloomington-Normal area. She recently graduated from Illinois Central College in East Peoria. She has been with Dr. Scott Hume since June of 2021. Emma specializes in dental insurance and is great for answering all your questions you could have. She enjoys traveling, being adventurous, marking things off her bucket list, and just laughing in general. She likes to spend most of her free time baking, listening to podcasts, and hanging out with her two golden retrievers, Goose and Sandy.
Chris- Hygienist
Chris has been with Dr. Scott Hume since May 2016. She studied Dental Hygiene at Illinois Central College and is certified in anesthesia and nitrous oxide. Outside of work, she likes to spend time with her 10 grandkids and to visit new restaurants.
